Compensation: $120-135k, + bonus + equity

Benefits: 100% company paid MDV, unlimited PTO, 401(k) match

Work Arrangement: Full-time, permanent/direct hire

Schedule: Fully Remote, Standard Hours, quarterly travel to HQ

About Us:

Our client is a forward-thinking SaaS company dedicated to excellence and innovation in their space. They are expanding their finance team and are looking for a seasoned Assistant Controller with a robust background in public accounting and industry experience (open to industries outside of SaaS, but most have Public Accounting foundation). Our ideal candidate will excel in month-end close processes, operational accounting, and have proven managerial skills.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, managing operational accounting functions, and leading a team of accounting professionals. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close: Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

  • Operational Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide detailed financial analysis to support management decision-making.

  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Maintain and enforce a robust internal control environment to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to prepare budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations. Leverage technology to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 2+ years in public accounting, 2+ years in industry (5+ total)

  • Managerial/Supervisor experience

  • Strong month-end close experience
