The Systems Analyst will assist in delivering solutions for healthcare/ HIE /life sciences user cases. This roll will assist in the enterprise application integration that goes beyond building the typical HL7, X12, or IHE integration projects common in the industry, that avoids reinventing the wheel and drives innovation with every solution you build. As a team member you will share your knowledge and expertise with other intelligent professionals with diverse technical backgrounds, while you hone your skills, learning from other colleagues. Using InterSystems platforms this role will really dig into internals and make capabilities accessible to those that are more general in their skillsets using whatever technologies and programming languages will best get the job done. This role will take responsibility of seeing solutions through to completion working with a team that is diverse in geography, skills and experience to assure synergistic success.
Key Responsibilities
Define and develop solutions for HIE customers, leveraging the InterSystems Iris and HealthShare platform
Use your knowledge of healthcare use cases and integration solutions to optimize onboarding of partners and expansion of HIE use cases being delivered
Leverage your knowledge of standards such as HL7, X12, IHE, NCPDP and FHIR to optimize how we onboard partners and create efficient operations for a growing HIE practice
Independently take projects to completion
Be (or become) an expert in InterSystems technologies and solution delivery
Assist other Cognosante teammates in growing their knowledge and skillsets
Analyze new use cases and assist in the creating of solution designs that leverage the HIE platform for effective, scalable operations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (typically in computer science, software engineering or another related field)
2+ year’s professional experience in Software Development
Experience with HIE and integration platforms used within the health services industry (e.g., InterSystems, Medicity, Orion, etc.)
Experience with one or more data interchange formats or standards commonly used in the industry (XML, JSON, HL7 v2.x, CDA, IHE profiles, NCPDP (telecommunications or SCRIPT), X12N, FHIR, etc.)
Familiarity with relational & non-relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo DB, Dynamo, Cassandre, IRIS/Caché
Knowledge of common healthcare clinical data integration scenarios
Effective communicator capable of leading clear, audience focused, discussion with internal staff and customers
Healthcare IT, Agile, Intersystems IRIS/Healthconnect
Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate work in a discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Machine Learning or Data Sciences
3+ year’s professional experience in Software Development
Experience with InterSystem technology stack (IRIS/Caché, HealthShare, Ensemble)
Experience developing APIs, RPCs and clinical application code using Caché Mumps or Object Script,
Familiar with SOAP and RESTful services
Good understanding of InterSystems platform internals including HSPI, HealthInsights, DeepSee, iKnow, HealthShare push messaging framework, InterSystems FHIR Server
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, EAI patterns, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
Experience delivery cloud hosted (AWS / AWS Gov Cloud, Azure, etc.) solutions
Experience in creating well documented and maintainable solutions
Solid understanding of version control principles
Experience with Agile Frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.

Motivated self-starter who drives tasks to completion and takes ownership of tasks / solutions / projects.
Ability to think clearly and develop / propose efficient solutions to sometimes ambiguous problems.
