Transatlantic Reinsurance Company Reinsurance Accounting Manager in Miami, Florida

DUTIES and Responsibilities:

Serve as an integral part of the reinsurance accounting department focused on the Latin American and Caribbean regions. Ensure accurate and complete accounting of the entire reinsurance account process. Review the production logs to maintain pending items below 90 days received to avoid backlogs. Review and reconcile profit commissions, sliding scale commissions, premium adjustments, and other technical accounts submitted by ceding companies and brokers. Monitor accounts production to ensure written premium estimates are met. Monitor outstanding loss reserve to avoid double expending of claim losses. Assign accounts as needed to corresponding accountants based on production requirements and expertise. Lead a team of reinsurance accountants responsible for processing technical accounts. Set appropriate levels of outstanding loss reserves based on reported accounts and claims department reports. Approve significant accounts posted to the (TIRS) reinsurance accounting module. Run reports on the GRM report software to monitor reinsurance balances, funds, and cash loss advances. Run the minimum deposit, unearned premium and accrual TIRS processes. Prepare and analyze overall financial reports and quarter comparatives to determine correctness and completeness of accounting figures. Prepare quarterly branch reporting packages analyzing fluctuations and providing meaningful data and conclusions to send to Home Office for consolidation of financial and reporting. Understand the accounting processes and controls to implement improvements and efficiencies. Establish accounting controls and policies to ensure complete and accurate accounting of the reinsurance operations. Coordinate processing of paid losses and cash loss advance request with the Claims Department.

**Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or U.S. equivalent and three (3) years of experience in the job or as Accounting Manager, or closely related occupation within the reinsurance industry responsible for coordinating activities for the reinsurance accounting department for the Latin American division/region. Experience must include leading the accounting team and coordinating accounting activities of the entire reinsurance accounting process, as well as monitoring accounts production to ensure written premium estimates are met. Must have experience preparing quarterly foreign currency exposure and branch/affiliates reports for global consolidation of financial, utilizing accounting programs such as GRM, SUN and VISION to carry out activities related to global/corporate accounting. **
