Our open position is that of anArchitectural Sales Representativein the Connecticut market. We are primarily a residential supplier of tile, but have always operated in the commercial arena to some degree. We are currently going “all in” to expand our commercial business through product specification to the Architectural & Design community.

About You

As an Architecture & Design Representative, you will cover a territory of Connecticut and beyond. The A&D Rep is responsible for leading generation, A&D customer development, and ultimately gaining specifications within the assigned territory. The A&D Rep will be part of a team that increases commercial sales in the designated sales territory by calling on Architects and Designers for the purpose of obtaining proprietary specifications for Tile America.

  • Develops relationships with large Architectural firms, Design firms and specifies company materials

  • Manage the architectural and design specification process and will be responsible for specifications generated through the territory that might be built Locally, Nationally, or Globally

  • Create awareness for the Tile America brand and products within the architectural, design, and specification communities

  • Obtain specifications for Tile America’s family of products, identify high-value projects in the planning stages to target for sales, assist Tile America personnel in bringing those projects to close, and assist/educate applicators, installers, and dealers relative to the beneficial use of Tile America branded products

  • Maintains architectural libraries in a clean, well-organized manner, physically replacing outdated sample tools. Placement of new products as soon as they are available

  • Work closely with Outside Sales Manager to track & close specified projects

  • Engage support from the Outside Sales Manager who will align needs for tools with Tile America marketing

  • Provide interaction with local branches to facilitate project tracking and execution of A&D initiatives

Pay:

Base + commission salary of$80,000 - $120,000 per year

Requirements

  • Ability to determine solutions for customers.

  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Must possess strong follow up and tracking skills

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving.

  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills.

  • Provide high level of customer service; ability to build relationships.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Ability to travel within an established territory 50-75% of the time; current and valid driver's license in the state of employment.

  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours for work-related events.
