Uber Senior Product Manager, Merchant in New York, New York

About the Role

As the Product Manager for the Merchant team, you will help drive important strategy and experience for our merchants, helping our merchants be successful and incentivized in our marketplace, and giving our internal teams tools to help them empower merchants.

What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Drive merchant obsession and deeply understand merchants' day-to-day usage of our marketplace and their need business needs

  • Conceptualize and create the next-gen experience and business mechanisms that will power all commerce on Uber Eats. Work with partners across the company to form this vision and then lead it through execution.

  • Build industry-leading user experience used by over 250K+ merchants to manage their business on Uber Eats. You will closely work with design, operations, and support teams to ensure new features will address merchant pain points.

  • Help form a data-backed view of what a good" experience is and help merchants uplevel their performance.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their current needs and future use cases. You will proactively identify and articulate where tech can elevate customer and merchant experiences. You will then build these into scalable products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of product management experience delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them - and you're deeply proud of what you've accomplished.

  • Leader: 3+ years leading large product teams or programs. You form a vision and make owners out of stakeholders.

  • User Obssesed; You start with customers first, understanding them, empathizing with their experience and being obsessed with improving it. At the same time, you internalize what matters most for Uber and use this focus to aggressively avoid distractions for yourself and your team.

  • Structured Thinker: You take on complex product challenges and simplify them. When reviewing new use cases, you are able to quickly tease out the actual feature being requested and articulate that to stakeholders.

  • Customer Obsessed: You take a customer-first lens to your work, keeping the needs of various segments in mind.

  • Technical savviness. Can manifest in different ways: a computer science undergraduate degree, hands-on software engineering experience, or experiences building complex software products side by side with engineers. Technical understanding must go from the highest abstractions down to the metal

  • Data-savvy : you find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to use this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a big tech organizations with multiple stakeholders

  • Experience building SMB or consumer products, including the UX elements.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
