Jacobs Technology Group is a performance unit of the Jacobs Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) Line of Business. The Jacobs CMS Technology Group specializes in the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities, including, as examples, wind tunnels (aerospace, automotive, and motorsports), rocket test stands, climatic chambers, jet engine test cells, acoustic chambers, altitude test facilities, captive trajectory systems, and nuclear facilities.

Our projects span the automotive, motorsports, defense, nuclear, and aerospace markets. Recent clients include Audi, Boeing, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, General Motors, NASA, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Energy, Volkswagen, and many others in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Jacobs is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer Manager to lead our team at an automotive testing facility in Auburn Hills, MI. This role requires an experienced Engineering project manager to lead their team.

BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Champion safety, participating in and promoting safe work practices and behaviors.

· Create customer service project proposals, including staffing levels. Manage budget, forecast spending, and create reports for senior leadership.

· Lead proposal development for facility repairs, upgrades and capital improvement projects.

· Assign responsibilities to team. Oversee maintenance program execution.

· Generate Value Plus initiatives and document innovations and cost savings.

· Lead assigned Equipment and Building System maintenance program (Fuel Farm, Central HVAC System for Powertrain, Desiccant air driers, Fans/pumps…)

· Engage in Stellantis business management systems use (Work Management System, Kaizen/Suggestion)

· Suggest and steer application enhancements necessary for metrics, data mining, processing work orders, ordering materials, finding drawings/manuals.

· Participate in the “Stellantis Production Way” process.

· Identify and sell new operational opportunities.

· Ensure Stellantis company and government codes are met and followed by the Jacobs team.

· Ensure adherence to all Jacobs safety standards and execute training plan for the site.

· Execute Employee Performance Reviews and Performance Improvement plans

· Assist support staff in recruiting efforts.

· Arrange new Jacobs employees’ computer, account, access set up, orientation and training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Position Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of ten yearsof engineering experience

  • Program and Project Management experience with strong business acumen

  • Demonstrated competence in technical discipline field(s) and awareness of company policies and practices (code reviews, engineering drawing reviews, and a good understanding of facility construction).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of building related systems and equipment care, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. An understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including team mentorship with strong communication and listening skills.

  • Skilled in Outlook, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD (basic)

  • Dynamic, innovative and resourceful mindset to challenge the norm and propose new ideas.

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship. (H-1B etc)

· Travel/transportation requirements: May require occasional local travel, 25%

Equipment and Machines Involved in Work Tasks

· Office equipment/machines electrically/battery operated - which?: Computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, 100%

· Vehicles, forklifts, etc. operated which?: Operation of electric carts/tricycles require PIV license

· Tools used in trade - which ones?: Occasional use of hand tools, 25%

Criticality of Attendance

· Overtime, regular days, off days: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM, 100%

· Shift, 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Day shift

· Necessity for regular attendance: Critical, 100%

· Urgency for punctuality: Critical, 100%

· Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have the flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.

Other Essential Functions

  • Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.

  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.

  • Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others.

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.

  • Dependable personal transportation to the work site is required.
