As a Journeyman Electrician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you?ll support a commercial electrical contractor on projects around the Austin, TX area to install, repair and maintain traffic lights. In this temp to perm role, you?ll earn $28 to $32 an hour, enjoy weekly pay and health insurance benefits. You can also earn prizes as part of our Respect the Craft tradesperson recognition program!

NOTE - The pay rate for this job is $28 - $32 / hour

 Responsibilities:

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 10 hour shift.

• To install new street lighting furniture, wire up and set working to appropriate specifications and to    meet current electrical installation standards.

• Review blueprint and schematics to ensure the project is completed to specifications.

• Undertake electrical testing of street lighting installations, complete and report required records. 

• Build out control boxes for manual streetlight and automated system controls next to streetlight pole. 

• Maintain wiring for the streetlights and perform any troubleshooting and repairs as necessary. 

• Maintain knowledge of current electrical code and ensure all electrical systems meets standards. 

•  Follow all OSHA and safety protocol to ensure safety on the jobsite.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Current/active TDLR Journeyman Electrician license 

• OSHA-10 Certification or a willingness to obtain it is a huge plus! 

• Ability to terminate wire and use all benders as needed. 

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation 

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation 

• 5 years prior experience as an Electrician required. 

• Must have all hand and power tools and the ability to bring them onsite. 

• Position does require a drug screen

• Position does require a background check.
