Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IBM Cloud Architect in the Technology Expert Labs team you will provide architectural advice and solution strategies in the use of IBM Cloud to address our clients' strategic business and technical goals. You will primarily collaborate with our clients to lead and develop the target to-be solution architecture that uses IBM Cloud. These projects may include multiple phases from inception, discovery, design, planning, implementation, workload migration, and hand over of the solution to the designated "day 2" operations team. You will provide solution architecture and technical leadership throughout these phases. Solutions are documented as architectures and can include systems, applications, processes and service components all hosted in IBM Cloud and integrated with client on premise systems in accordance with their hybrid cloud journey.

Your Responsibilities:

• Assist in presales activities of scoping, solution definition, sizing/pricing and staffing determination.

• Design & articulate innovative technical approaches / solution architectures based on your understanding of client's business and technical requirements together with your subject matter expertise of IBM Cloud technologies and capabilities.

• Be a trusted advisor to the client by pro-actively educating and guiding discussions to address client's needs using IBM Cloud technologies.

• Provide technical leadership across the life cycle of the IBM Cloud project.

• Engage with key client counterparts as the IBM Cloud technical solution / subject matter expert.

• Create solution documentation, implementation plans and hands-on enablement of IBM Cloud solutions.

Skills requirements:

Technical & consultative skills

• B.E./BTech in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering

• Proficiency in hybrid cloud/ multi-cloud networking (including firewalls and load balancers), IBM Cloud IAAS technologies, IBM Cloud workload migration tools and methods and IBM Cloud security and compliance tools and methods.

• Experience with three or more IBM Cloud IAAS technologies: VMware, VPC, Redhat OpenShift Kubernetes Service (ROKS), IBM Cloud Kubernetes Experience (IKS), Veeam, Zerto and IBM Cloud block and object storage solutions

• Knowledge of IBM Cloud core solution concepts and architectural principles

• Ability to evaluate a client's current state, business & technical requirements, then envision and architect an IBM Cloud solution.

• Communicate solution recommendations based on current industry best practices and provide hands-on education regarding the solution.

• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.

Leadership & relationship skills

• Ability to perform technical project management tasks, and assist project managers in creating and managing an end-to-end project plan

• Demonstrated experience to work across cross-functional teams to deliver complex IT solutions.

• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with multiple stakeholders to develop an IBM Cloud solution architecture and solution approach.

• Determined and self-motivated problem solver who can thrive in dynamic, ambiguous and customer-facing environments.

• Written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to all levels.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficiency in IBM Cloud networking including MPLS, VPN, GRE, VPC, DirectLink, Transit Gateway and BGP

• Proficiency in designing and implementing IBM Cloud firewall solutions such as Juniper, Fortigate and Vyatta

• Proficiency designing and implementing of VMware solutions, including detailed knowledge of vCenter, vSphere, vMotion, NSX and HCX components.

• Proficiency designing and implementing of ROKS or IKS solutions.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing of IBM Cloud backup solutions such as Veeam and Spectrum Protect

• Proficiency the design, planning and execution of workload migrations using tools such as VMware HCX, VMware vMotion, Veeam and Zerto

• Proficiency in the design and implementing of cloud automation using Ansible and Terraform

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficiency in design and implementing of VPC solutions.

• Proficiency in design and implementing of IBM Cloud load balancer solutions.

• Proficiency in design and implementing of IBM Cloud DR solutions such as Zerto.

IBM Technology Expert Labs consultants have the deepest technical expertise and experience in mainframe application platform technologies, they are experts in advising clients on modernization and optimization of database-driven, secure, integrated platforms for high-performance online transaction and data processing, assisting client IT teams advising them on preparing for a hybrid landscape as they modernize their applications.

This job requires you to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated prior to your start date and proof of vaccination status will be required before your start date.
