Robert Half is representing on of our favorite clients who is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role is hybrid and the organization is known for, and prides itself on taking stellar care of their employees. This role functions within the a highly regulated industry, where you'll be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial tasks. You'll have a chance to utilize your full cycle of accounting skills in General Ledger and Month End Close processes while contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee full cycle accounting processes in a corporate setting.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.

• Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.

• Enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Communicate effectively with senior executives on a daily basis.

• Engage in continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.

• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

• Respond to inquiries regarding finance and accounting, from auditors, executives, and other stakeholders.

• Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades and system implementations.

Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or willingness to pursue is a major plus.

• Must possess a minimum of three years of experience as a staff or senior accountant role or similar position

• Proficiency in General Ledger management is essential

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred

• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
