Where the chemistry happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to join our R&D organization in Beachwood, OH supporting multiple R&D groups such as Process Catalysts & Adsorbents, Solids Processing, Analytics & Characterization and Battery Materials Research in their effort to develop and implement digitalization-based solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and digital security.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your experience in applying your knowledge and skillset to advise and coordinate with the site leadership team, steering site digitalization activities.

As a Site Digitalization Specialist, You Create Chemistry By...

• Leveraging your education and experience in computer science or a related discipline, you will identify and prioritize IT-related infrastructure and digitalization-based needs of the site, working with site/group leadership to successfully implement solutions.

• Assuming the role of Officer of Automation Security, leading the effort to identify & maintain asset inventory, performing internal security audits and business criticality score cards ensuring compliance with BASF standards, granting /confirming access rights.

• Coordinating building automation and security efforts with Facility Manager to effectively interface with BASF firewalls.

• Taking responsibility of Information Protection Officer, recommending, and overseeing appropriate site-wide communications or training as needed.

• Working with groups to assist in networking lab/pilot plant equipment based upon perceived benefits, feasibility, cost, etc, and guide them towards more effective adoption/utilization of digital notebooks such as Preptool and Labbooq.

If you...

• Have a degree in computer science, digitalization, or related discipline with at least 3 years of related experience.

• Have familiarity with Chemical industry is a plus.

• Have experience networking instrumentation and equipment.

• Have knowledge digitizing/automating processes to improve efficiency and reliability.

• Have knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft O/S 10 and legacy MS operating systems to support you in maintaining laboratory computers including support and maintenance of the laboratory and pilot plant network.
