Bozeman Health HVAC Specialist in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The HVAC Specialist is responsible for the daily mechanical operations of the hospital, medical office buildings & physical plant. Complete tasks to repair/troubleshoot/maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems and boilers. Complete installation and remodeling of equipment for the physical plant. Communicate work performed in writing in work logs and verbally communicate to coworkers during shift changes. Oversee care of HVAC systems for the hospital buildings. Conduct preventative and active maintenance of all air handlers, boilers, pumps and HVAC devices. Collaborate with contractors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years technical trade school or equivalent training in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration or HVAC

  • HVAC License of Type 2, 3 or Universal

  • Montana Licensure (Boiler), 3rd Class required within 14 months of hire

  • Understand theories of physical plant operations consisting of HVAC, boilers, electrical and plumbing systems

  • Preferred: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and provide guidance to architects

  • Preferred: Advanced computer knowledge required for internal systems

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the daily mechanical operations of the hospital, medical office buildings & physical plant

  • Repair/troubleshoot, preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and boiler systems

  • Responsible for taking care of HVAC systems for hospital buildings

  • Assist Engineers on preventative maintenance requests and emergency requests

  • Complete logs for work completed.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Works varied shifts as scheduled and/or needed
