USG Corporation Sales Representative (Home Improvement) - West Region in California
*POSITION SUMMARY: * This entry level sales position is a great opportunity to develop sales skills and customer facing actions and relationship development necessary for success in broader and more advanced sales roles within USG in the future.
Candidate to live in/nearOrange County, CAand support the following territories: Orange County, Inland Empire, San Diego, HI, GU, and AZ. _ _ _KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_ Includes the following and performs additional responsibilities as assigned * Build strong business relationships with all levels of management, contractor sales teams and associates in the retailcenters in in assigned geography with key focus in the above listed markets. * Increase sales by coordinating and executing training with store associates and service companies on USG products, thereby increasing name recognition, product knowledge and USG loyalty. * Ensure excellent service of retail big box accounts by establishing relationships with outside service company managers and reps. Supervise the activities of in-store servicing teams and their effectiveness in representing USG products. * Maximize product availability by writing orders and training store staff on ordering and inventory procedures. * Maximize sales potential by ensuring product availability by helping stores manage inventory. * Work with Marketing to actively promote USG products using all provided pieces/information. * Actively seek ways to promote innovative USG products in line with organizational goals within retail big box accounts. * In-aisle product demos focused on end use sales and in store customer associate training.
_KEY QUALIFICATIONS:_ _ _ Education * Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Travel Requirements * Travel time up to and over 50% servicing respective market and within the assigned region * Travel to, but not limited to assigned market territory on a regular basis while managing the respective market * Valid driver’s license
Required Skills * Strong business acumen and professionalism. * Strong communication/interpersonal skills, including presentation, professional selling, conflict resolution and relationship building. * Excellent public speaking skills in order to execute product training. * Self-motivated with a focus on working to and exceeding targets. * Effective and independent time and scheduling management of activities. * Ability to set and self-manage priorities to ensure maximizing of account development maximization for both existing and new accounts. * A sense of urgency and a high level of customer focus. * Creative problem solver; agility and resourcefulness necessary. * Attention to the details that drive sales. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. * Willing to relocate with USG for future promotional opportunities.
Preferred Experience * Awareness of and knowledge/familiarity with construction product and process * Willing and able to successfully manage a territory with multiple customers * Bilingual speaking ability in Spanish and English * Salesforce.com exposure/experience
