Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor, located at the Caro Factory.

Job Summary:

The E/I Supervisor is responsible for management and supervision of asset reliability, capacity assurance, planning, R&M budget and to support leadership with all factory Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance operations, including equipment safety, Equipment uptime, productivity and continuous improvement with all plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.

The E/I Supervisor directs and oversees all Union E/I's and apprentices in the E/I apprenticeship program. This position supports hiring apprentices within the bargaining group and provides technical expertise and development to hourly employees.

The E/I Department is responsible for daily maintenance of all factory electrical, instrumentation and operating system equipment throughout the Beet processing campaign Juice campaign, Chemical Softening plant and Waste Water Treatment equipment to support factory operations and meet business objectives.

During the Inter-campaign months, the E/I department conducts significant electrical system inspection, R&M, electrical equipment improvement, capital project installations, reassembly and test out of the entire factory's electrical system and operating system in preparation for the next campaign.

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain and ensure all employees comply with regulatory & company requirements for personal & facility safety.

Maintain electrical, instrumentation and operating system equipment to meet environmental compliance.

Support management of the factory maintenance and processing department's to achieve operational business goals.

Assure electrical maintenance meets Feed & Food safety program requirements as they relate to USDA & SQF.

On-call 24/7 for emergency response of all electrical, instrumentation and operating system equipment issues.

Management and adherence to the R&M budget including, capital planning, contributing to controllable margin, and loss control through forecasting, tracking and reporting.

Help lead implementation & utilization of KPI's to measure asset/equipment performance & total lifecycle maintenance costs as relates to electrical, instrumentation and operating system.

Provide leadership with all preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance/process and reliability functions of the factory electrical and operating system.

Utilization of the Advanced Maintenance Management System (AMMS) for cost and performance tracking.

Support development of maintenance targets and timing. Track results and take corrective actions as appropriate to achieve goals.

Management of the electrical and instrumentation parts inventory including asset control, usage tracking, obsolescence reduction.

Follow the correct policies and procedures with all purchasing functions.

Identify and implement training and development for the Union workforce to ensure the necessary people skills and resources are applied currently and in the future.

Identification and submission of capital and extraordinary projects that provide solutions for continuous improvement to operations.

Manage the programming function of the iFix operating system including documentation of changes to the programing and giving the final decision as to what changes are to be made to the system.
