EMCOR Group Sheetmetal Foreman in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

A Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for daily work at job sites and will make their own travel arrangements and will begin onsite work on time each day. Work includes all types of sheet metal. The Sheet Metal Journeyman should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including sub-contractors, and will represent Bahnson Mechanical Systems (BMS) in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follows all OSHA and Bahnson Mechanical standards for safety

  • Install hangars or supports

  • Assist with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment

  • Offloading deliveries and loading truck at job sites

  • Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products

  • Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares

  • Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, and flashings

  • Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing HVAC systems

  • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance

  • Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications

  • Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal

  • Experience in the operations of manual or semiautomatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and shielded metal arc

welding. Certifiable to ASME and AWS standards. Other skills helpful but not a requirement: Manual Torch Brazing and Soldering.
