WSP USA Assistant Vice President, Lighting in Chicago, Illinois

This Opportunity

WSP is currently searching for an Assistant Vice President, Lighting for our Boston, MA office. Other locations consider: New York, Denver, Seattle, and Chicago.

This position involves performing lighting design for various types of transportation facilities including roads, tunnels, bridges, transit facilities, maintenance facilities, parking facilities, and airports.

Your Impact

  • Preparing lighting design concepts for facilities coordinating/consulting with facility operators, maintenance personnel, architects, and other engineering disciplines.

  • Preparing calculations and presentation material showing lighting designs in conformance with industry criteria and related research.

  • Preparation of specifications and cost estimates

  • Preparation of construction plans and details

  • Support during the construction of these facilities

Lighting design work in this position serves clients and projects throughout North America and internationally.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree required in electrical engineering, architecture, interior design, or another lighting related curriculum.

  • Professional Engineering, or Registered Architect, or Lighting Certified desired.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation, and Microsoft Office products required.

  • Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. AGI 32) required.

  • Experience to include: facilities surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support, owner's engineer; and supervision of less experienced engineers and designers and technicians.

  • 10-15 years experience in lighting design of building or infrastructure projects.

  • Legally qualified to work in the United States.

  • Field inspection of lighting systems and equipment knowledge

  • Knowledge of lighting control systems

  • Previous project management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.

  • Essential or enhancing professional licensure/certification.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $125,000 - $180,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $125,000 - $169,100

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
