Job Description:

  1. Directs/oversees all aspects of the Corporation's salaried and hourly workforce employment and recruiting, management/leadership and organizational development, training and development initiatives, workforce diversity strategies and initiatives, and sucession planning.
  2. Responsible for identifying, defining, creating and implementing disciplines, processes and strategies to ensure USG Corporation has a highly trained and qualified workforce with solid retention and the ability to identify and employ qualified talent as needed. The position also works closely with other senior human resources executives and business leaders to ensure the Corporation's talent management strategies are aligned with the overall direction of the Corporation.
  3. In conjunction with business unit management, develops and delivers training in support of developing an industry-leading sales function.
  4. Serve as a key member of the Human Resources leadership team, working to deliver integrated workforce acquisition, retention and development plans.
  5. Implement and manage the annual Corporate succession planning process to ensure the identification of high potential talent within the organization.
  6. Oversee the Corporation's diversity and inclusion initiatives to meet the objectives of recruiting and retaining the best talent, adapting to a changing customer base and assisting the Company in having a more global focus. Provide support for the Diversity Council, Employee Resource Groups and line managers in achieving these objectives.

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a Master's degree preferred.
  2. HR generalist experience is important as well as experience in talent management areas. Should have a strong interest in talent management and the willingness and ability to become a subject matter expert.
  3. Requires strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to manage both people and financial resources effectively to achieve meaningful and tangible results.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills required with the ability to relate effectively at all levels of the organization. Positive and constructive approach to selling ideas, building support for new initiatives and facilitating change.
  5. Sound understanding of the business and USG's strategic priorities. Must be able to partner with line managers to effectively translate business objectives into talent management priorities.
