Enterprise Architect - Practice management is a seasoned expert who will help advance our IT practice to deliver business needs and fulfill CIBC’s brand promise. This role will work with key stakeholders across the enterprise to align our enterprise architecture related principles, policies, and procedures for CIBC's US Region. This also includes managing across topics such as Technology Operational Resiliency, Business Managed Technology Policy, and supporting Regulatory processes. This role works with minimal direction using deep knowledge in their field of expertise, conducting research into current state capabilities to understand existing gaps and areas for improvement, taking a more proactive role in managing EA practice.

Enterprise Architecture Practice Management

  • Support governance of architecture strategy, principles, policies, procedures and associated business capabilities/requirements and tools

  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of enterprise technology strategy roadmaps, policies, standards, and governance representing US region

  • Planning & execution of continuous improvement for Architecture governance processes and practices

  • Support the development/refinement of the process to develop the model for inclusion of application categories such as the concept of business managed technology, and associated governance impacts

  • Do assessments of the applications in the portfolio to determine any gaps to be remediated and support the creation of business cases to plan the migrations

  • Monitor and support responses to regulatory and audit requests and manage remediation for timely completion

  • Support the learning and development of the practice across the organization to ensure adoption and alignment of key stakeholders

Operational Resiliency

  • Help identify resilience risks in the technology portfolio, lead discussion on remediation of the identified risks and evaluate the overall potential solutions to mitigate.

  • Monitor remediation action plans for timely completion and escalate any known weakness in the overall resilience landscape in technology

  • Manage and support Technology resiliency assessments, support creation/reviews of Critical Business Services(CBS) and Critical Shared services(CSS)

  • Ensure new architecture solutions adequately consider operational resiliency risks

  • You demonstrate a strong knowledge of IT Architecture--Knowledge of concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies. IT Environment--Knowledge of organization's total information technology (IT) environment.

You meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology

  • 7-10 years of proven experience in Enterprise Architecture or related position

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Should feel comfortable interacting with business and technology resources at all levels

  • Expert with interface design/architecture, integration technologies development, and enterprise application integration

  • Knowledge of banking industry domain highly desirable

  • Up to date on current technology trends, vendors, design etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of Visio, PowerPoint & Power BI reporting preferred.
