Huntington National Bank Enterprise Strategy Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Description

The Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role on the Huntington Enterprise Strategy team by conducting comprehensive market assessments and formulating innovative strategies to drive organic and inorganic growth. A successful leader will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging analytical and industry insights to identify emerging trends, assess market dynamics, and recommend actionable strategies that align with organizational goals.

This role is a key role within the Enterprise Strategy team which is oriented as a center of excellence that supports all business segments to drive strategy, new business development, and operational excellence. This leader will report to the Enterprise Strategy Director and will support all business segments across the firm.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market assessments, evaluate competitive positioning, market share, and growth opportunities.

  • Identify key market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging consumer preferences.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define strategic priorities and objectives, generating actionable insights to inform decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Support the development of business cases and assess feasibility, profitability, and strategic fit of new initiatives.

  • Monitor market performance and industry benchmarks.

  • Maintain Huntington's strong risk culture through early identification, communication, and proactive management and mitigation of financial risks.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, marketing, or related field

  • 5-7 years of business experience in the Financial Services industry and/or strategic management consulting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progressive experience, preferably 5 years of total direct experience in strategic management consulting or financial services strategy is strongly preferred having achieved at least the role of consultant or higher.

  • Ability to effectively work in a matrixed organization with colleagues across various reporting structures.

  • Excellent influencing, consulting, and communication (both oral and written) skills, with the ability to successfully interact with and relate complex technical information to multiples audiences in business terms.

  • Strong research skills and desire to expand knowledge.

  • Ability to synthesize analysis and research into practical strategic insights and recommendations (critical thinking and assessment).

  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple projects and flexible at adjusting assigned priorities when needed.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
