Leads IT demand management planning function, by facilitating technology efforts with business stakeholders and IT directors on short and long-term business strategies, ensuring that IT activities and business strategies are closely aligned. Acts as liaison between senior business management and IT staff to ensure alignment on technology project selection based upon business benefits, costs, and alignment to company strategy. Ensures that business needs are well understood throughout IT. Ensure that IT strategies are well understood by the business. Establish alignment with technology project leaders within the business, including a global process owner (GPO) network, to define current state, future state needs, and the path forward. Defines complex business analysis and design focusing on quality, process improvement and/or re-engineering. Demonstrates advanced understanding of business processes, environments, and problems/solutions as they relate to the organization’s current and future strategic environment. Facilitates process design changes. Ensure that processes meet business requirements. Travel has the potential of 10-20%.

Job/Knowledge Business Focus: * Understands and manages internal and external customer expectations * Works closely with senior business management and IT directors to collect and manage short-term and long-term business demands for technology; determines action plans and recommends investment levels needed to meet and support this demand while remaining cost focused * Builds partnerships and relationships with business areas and fosters healthy debates required by the role to drive to appropriate decisions * Establish alignment with technology project leaders across the company, including by establishing a global process owner (GPO) network, to define current state, future state needs, and the path forward * Focuses on objectives and methods of the business work process and assists in determining approaches needed to implement major changes. * Ties future IT and business strategies together to result in a competitive advantage * Articulates the role of technology in terms easily understood by business constituents * Understands and explains the relationship between business processes and technology * Performs extensive research; works with other areas to create and deliver formal feasibility studies, project proposals, and recommendations to support company-wide direction and strategies * Provides the analysis of business, systems, and process requirements to redesign or reinvent business processes * Manages workflow analysis in support of requirements definitions * Sets realistic customer expectations for project delivery * Accurately quantifies project specific risks throughout the development lifecycle * Understands the basic tenets of information risk security and data models * Ensures relevant service level agreements are documented and communicated Managing Resources: * Develops and organizes projects which involve initiating, planning and executing work of unique scope, difficulty and complexity, requiring specialized business knowledge * Recommends resources, oversees project activities, and ensures implementation of solutions * Manages and is accountable for assigned budget * Works with business area to develop funding requests Leadership: * Provides input into organizational issues that impact the success of the department and company * Facilitates business and IT planning and requirements sessions Job Knowledge: * Maintains up-to-date knowledge in business area(s) of specialization and keeps aware of business and industry developments and progress worldwide * Participates in industry related societies, builds relationships within the industry, actively benchmarks, stays current on industry leaders/trends * Builds consensus among the business units in order to create effective requirements definitions Other: * Administration/Organization: Understands and explains the financial implications of decisions and requests to IT * Communication: Communicates status to senior management on IT/Business projects * Developing Others: Formally or informally trains IT members in area(s) of expertise * Developing Others: Provides input into performance reviews and training objectives * Performs additional responsibilities as assigned * Supervisory role may include assigning work and reviewing work of others, may conduct performance reviews * Works under limited supervision, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals * Responsible for multiple projects of all sizes
Education: * Bachelor’s degree in business or related field Years of Experience: * A minimum of 10 years of in-depth business experience or business support, with most recent 5 years or more preferably in an information technology capacity * Demonstrated IT strategic planning skills and budget experience * Experience in business analysis, providing business solutions, and industry business knowledge Required Skills: * Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management, organizational, communication, customer service and interpersonal skills * Negotiation and the ability to debate key business issues with business leaders and IT staff to ensure USG business goals are achieved Preferred Skills: * Knowledge of company’s business and technical environments * Knowledge of business process reengineering methods/tools, as well as mapping processes /EOE including disability/veterans/
