Transportation Senior Financial Analyst Role – Band 7 _JOB DESCRIPTION_ The/Transportation Senior Financial Analyst/creates and manages dashboards, scorecards, and actionable metrics to improve the operational outcome of the Transportation departments activities. The/Senior Analyst/works primarily with USG’s Transportation departments, as well as USG IT and key internal customers to identify continuous improvement and cost savings opportunities.
The/Transportation Senior Financial Analyst/also supports financial and operational reporting, analysis and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) strategy related to all freight services. This/Senior Analyst/manages and participates in RFP’s, manages carrier performance, and works closely with USG’s Logistics department, Customer Service and Plants. The Senior Analyst may negotiate pricing and contracts, and collaborates with vendors, carriers, and other external partners.
This position works as part of a team and reports to the Manager, Transportation Operations. Occasional travel (10%) is required.
_KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_ * Developand track transportation performance metrics including areas of spend analytics, operational efficiencies, and carrier/supplier performance to drive improved strategy and implementation. * Provide meaningful analytics and recommendations to Transportation Operations team * Conductad hoc detailed analysis by plant, carrier/supplier, mode/commodity and spend history to help drive decisions and to improve transportation operations. * Provides support to Transportation Operations teamsfor freight and across modes or service offerings nationally. Freight services can include: o Flatbed& Dry Van o Rail Carrier & Railcar Leasing o Barge, Bulk, & Transload o Intermodal& Export Container * Identifies opportunities and presents recommendations for process improvements, cost savings, efficiency, etc. * Participates in USG’s strategic initiatives involving freight services and represents USG in industry trade groups as required. * Execute established policies to ensure a consistent approach to each of the freight services identified, create a strategic presence for each service, and ensure that freight services are consistently leveraged to result in optimal service and cost network-wide. * Lead cross-functional Transportation, Logistics, Supply and Chain continuous improvement projects. Position midpoint based on the skills and experience of the candidate.

Education · B.A. or B.S degree (Business; Supply Chain; or related field) required. · Masters preferred.
