We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Strategic Sr. Project Manager. (internal title Sr. Project Manager) on our Health Solutions team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Sr. Project Manager (Hybrid), you will provide senior project management and analytic skills that will help lead to the successful implementation of high-profile projects and programs. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with stakeholders, and ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion. This role will assist in planning, executing, and overseeing high-impact projects that align with our organization's strategic goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Manage multiple medium to highly complex projects or programs simultaneously.

  • Lead project planning workshops and meetings.

  • Collaborate and coordinate the efforts of cross-functional teams, including product, operations, sales and marketing, to define project goals and success criteria.

  • Develop and maintain project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements related to strategic initiatives.

  • Be conversant in current methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid, etc.) in determining which is most effective for the project being initiated. Provide management, oversight, and direction for project team members.

  • Create and maintain project documentation, including status reports, dashboards, and other documents and presentations to key stakeholders.

  • Manage risk, issues and expectations and ensure alignment between project goals and business objectives.

  • Track interdependencies of workstreams

    Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with peers to improve standard project management practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage diverse expertise and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.

    Support Other Projects and Activities

  • Make recommendations for project management frameworks, principles and staff development.

  • Participate and manage strategic planning, budgeting, contract initiation, and cross-project resource sharing, for strategic initiatives as assigned.

  • Negotiate contracts for managed service providers, professional services companies, and software or hardware purchasing/licensing.

  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing governance process and procedures require change

    May include other responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum 7 years of project management or strategic planning in a product organization or healthcare field.

  • Project management certification required.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with project management methodologies, tools and techniques (including Waterfall, Agile and hybrid project management methodologies) and an understanding as to when each is appropriate.

  • Intermediate analytical skills to support reporting and analysis of metrics.

  • Ability to express complex and technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Exceptional presentation skills, with experience communicating to stakeholders in both technical and non-technical fields.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Creative problem-solver, self-managed and motivated. Detail oriented.

  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

  • Diplomatic and professional presence and demeanor. Must demonstrate exceptional teamwork in relation to managing projects. Encourages both positive and “can-do” attitude in project work and daily operations.

  • Ability to work long hours when necessary and some travel is required.
