SUMMARY:Under the direction of the HR Manager, plans and carries out Human Resources activities at the Chili facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

  • Acting as a liaison to site leadership providing assistance and guidance on human resources issues and initiatives. Coaching and counseling management on policies and procedures.

  • Ensuring legal compliance by implementing applicable corporate procedures and policies for local, state and federal requirements including, but not limited to, EEO, AAP, HIPAA, and OSHA processes and postings, etc.

  • Advising, counseling, interpreting and administering policies/procedures to ensure consistent application and compliance.

  • Counseling directors/managers in matters involving associate absenteeism, performance, conduct, and working relationships.

  • Assisting with gathering, analyzing and reporting HR metrics and identifying current and future talent needs.

  • Working closely with other members of the HR Team to share best practices, identify areas of improvement and participate in team initiatives and projects.

  • Working with managers to identify staffing needs & ensure adequate staffing to meet volume projections including developing and implement staffing strategies & plans to ensure the right people are in the right positions with the necessary skills to do the job.

  • Effectively utilizing the HR system to obtain, store, and analyze pertinent workforce data and information and overseeing activities relating to the administration of payroll and employee benefit programs.

  • Recruiting, screening and recommending candidates for interview and employment.

  • Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.

  • Works with site and Corporate Leadership, including Corporate Training Manager, to ensure learning and development opportunities are available and effective for all levels at the site.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
