Job Description:

Job Title: Family Support Provider

Location: Columbia area

Department: Youth Community Services

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary: As a Family Support Provider at Burrell Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role in assessing family needs, educating families on agency interactions, and using discretion and judgment to determine effective courses of action. You will provide consultation and expert advice to management regarding family plans and advocacy. This position requires the ability to establish strong working relationships with clinical, administrative, and support staff to maximize available services through professional coordination within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess family needs

  • Educate families on agency interactions

  • Evaluate situations and determine appropriate actions using discretion

  • Provide consultation and expert advice to management on family plans/advocacy

  • Establish working relationships with clinical, admin and support staff

  • Develop professional coordination within the team to maximize services

  • Effectively interact with staff, consumers, families, administration, community

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Lived experience raising a child/youth with a mental health disorder or disability

Additional Qualifications:

  • Customer service skills

  • Interpersonal communication abilities

  • Organization and multi-tasking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

  • Community-based role working with families in the Columbia area
