The Director, Procurement oversees the procurement organization’s designated management and operational functions. This will include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective global procurement operations. The Director of Procurement is critical in optimizing the organization’s international purchasing process, driving cost savings, and maintaining high quality and compliance standards. Additionally, the position will work closely with 3rd consulting firms that assist and support CyrusOne’s strategic sourcing and procurement-related services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Supplier Management – Must establish and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, vendors, and consultants. Capable of effectively evaluating suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, lead times, and delivery performance. Exceptional skills in negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure favorable terms CyrusOne is vital. Must also be astute in conducting regular supplier performance reviews and managing supplier quality, speed, and overall performance.

• Procurement Operations – The ideal candidate will effectively lead and partner with 3rd party consultants to oversee end-to-end global procurement processes, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and contract management. Additionally, they will be responsible for enforcing procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

• Internal Functional Collaboration – collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, legal, IT, and HR, to ensure alignment of procurement activities and organizational needs. This position will also require an individual who can provide guidance and support to department leadership on procurement-related matters.

• Leadership – Lead equipment production planning and scheduling process as well as equipment inventory management processes and procedures to ensure continuity of supply. Work closely with the design and construction teams to enable best-in-class supplier-buyer relationships that maximize the value delivered to CyrusOne. Must also lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, quality, and reliability of our procurement, design, and delivery of new assets. Working knowledge and experience with leading efforts around being a US Federal Government Contractor. Must understand procurement’s role in following federal regulations and requirements on behalf of the company within the Procurement process. Ability to formulate a plan of action to ensure continued compliance with Federal Government Contracting regulations. Strong merger and acquisitions and joint venture skills with a proven track record of program management of successful integration.

Experience/Skills:

• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, supplier management, and data center construction and equipment need.

• Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time, if required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

• 8-10 years of proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.
