Responsible for the safety of all Engineering Mechanical Maintenance personnel. Provide safety leadership by understanding, following, and enforcing all plant safety rules/model program requirements. This will include ownership of some number of safety model programs.
Ensures housekeeping and 5S areas are in-compliance with all plant and program requirements.
Effectively leads Storeroom Supervisor and Planners.
Encourages learning and training opportunities and coordinates training plan for reports.
Use accumulated technical knowledge and equipment expertise to improve asset reliability, facilitate maintenance personnel skills development, and drive Continuous Improvement.
Accountable for adherence to RPM – expected to promote further improvement in the plant’s adoption of RPM. Expected to champion new industry best practices in Reliability as they emerge. Will be responsible for organizing and managing RPM work orders for effective schedule compliance.
Works closely with planner and supervisors, developing long-term asset reliability planning, as well as, assisting supervisors with daily planning and technical assistance.
This position will also take a pro-active leadership role in LEAN.
Responsibilities include: managing infrastructure, non-routine and small capital projects.
Must have a basic understanding of electrical concepts such as , 3-phase motors, 480 volt and 4160 voltage .
Must have an understanding of NFPA 70E code.
Must have basic PLC and VFD drive knowledge.
Motor starters - size & change overloads & heaters
Three phase motor wiring termination
Motors: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repairing
Motor brakes: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repairing
Must have basic knowledge of advanced control system troubleshooting including PLC control using wiring schematics
Burner controls: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repairing
PLC & associated hardware - installation, troubleshooting & repair
PLC main components familiarization
- High School diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is required.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work with others in a team environment and encourage collaboration and problem solving.
Must effectively communicate with all levels and departments to maintain or improve relationships and cooperation throughout a multi-industry plant.
Ability to inspire and motivate to create an environment of high employee engagement.
Ability to establish challenging performance standards and hold people accountable.
Strong organizational and project management skills. Must be able to take a project from ideation through implementation.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on repair experience of industrial equipment.
Solid Knowledge of RPM program and ability to utilize MP2.
Competent in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook.
Must be willing to carry a company issued cell phone and be contacted in case of emergency.
Local candidates are preferred for this position. There will be no relocation assistance.
Demonstrated proficiency in Coaching as taught through Vertical Directions
Experience in successfully running infrastructure, non-routine and/or capital projects.
Prior experience directly overseeing the safety and work of contractors.
Competent in CORE system to enter accidents and BBS observations.
Competent in Kronos time sheet system and Oracle requisition system.
Knowledge and experience in managing 5S projects.
Knowledge of plant fire protection system.
