Description Vehicle Maintenance Service Advisors oversee the day-to-day workflow of the vehicle maintenance at a facility. This position provides communication and feedback to customers, vendors, and the management team. Serves as advisor to coordinate and facilitate maintenance work and repairs, as well as monitoring safety, downtime, and quality of repairs and maintenance. Responsibilities of Position: Assist in ensuring all work performed by staff is completed in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Regularly communicate with management, operations, vendors, and others regarding the status of fleet vehicles, containers and/or other equipment. Ensure the maintenance department maintains quality and safety standards. Ensure maintenance is performed safely and effectively. Evaluate and adjust workflow to balance down line and operational needs. Review and close maintenance orders and conducts audits of maintenance records to identify returned work and training opportunities. Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and timely. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, employees, and managers. Serve as a liaison between the shop leadership team, driver's, sub- contractors, and operations teams to identify and address concerns. Answer phone inquiries, dispatch road calls, and coordinate outside repairs to maintain a high level of customer service. Assist managing the workflow of the auxiliary support staff to maintain a high level of support for the maintenance shop. Conduct employee observations to ensure safety and procedures are being followed. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: Have the ability to lead presentations in front a large groups of people. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Familiarity with use of repair manuals, electrical wiring, diagnostic software, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot. Knowledge of OSHA and DOT. Computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required. Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions, prioritize work, and resolve problems in a methodical manner. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, and safety training. Physical Requirements in a Regular workday: Occasionally lifting/carrying a max of 100lbs. Occasionally pushing/pulling a max of 100lbs. Continuous walking, standing, and sitting. Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Occasional climbing and/or balancing. Occasional working outside. Rarely working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter. Additional Working Conditions/Aspects: No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years. Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices, as required. Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver's license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre-employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
