Emerson Cost Account Specialist in Escazú, Costa Rica

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant with expertise in inventory management to join

our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, managing inventory valuation, and implementing strategies to optimize inventory levels while maintaining accuracy in financial records.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Perform and collaborate in the accounting closing process carrying out specific tasks on a timely manner (PPV and Labor Analysis and Allocations; CAR2 Calculation; Sales and GP Reports; Headcount review; POR Updates, Advance Sales Report, others)

  • Prepare inventory reconciliations; review activity reports; and posting of journal entries as needed.

  • Update and maintain inventory valuation methodologies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory needs; new part costing; physical inventory and review of E&O parts.

  • Analyze inventory turnover rates and recommend strategies to optimize inventory levels.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory policies and procedures.

  • Provide support during internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting.

  • Ad-hoc analysis and requests as needed by the Business Units.

  • Identify potential areas for process improvements and highlight to Supervisors and Continuous Improvement Team towards standardization and optimization of processes.

You anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations. You have a robust knowledge on status updates.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Shared services and collaborative work environment experience is preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory management.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Experience in Oracle, SAP, HFM is a plus.
