Description

This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Requirements
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
CPA or CMA- highly preferred
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another business-related field. MBA or MS highly preferred.
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Knowledge of Ledger Journal Entries
Comprehensive knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Deep understanding of budget forecasting
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
