Basic Job Functions:
Provide medical care to injured and ill teammates onsite and seeing that the best continual care possible is received by coordinating with outside healthcare facilities
Develop, coordinate, and conduct division health & safety activities, initiatives, and audits in alignment with Nucors goal to become the world's safest steel company
Manage occupational health for the division
Developing, organizing, and delivering Health and Wellness Training
Coordination of physicals and functional capacity testing
Administrating the plant drug, alcohol, hearing conservation and vision testing programs
Workers compensation claim management
Compiling, reviewing, and reporting injury/illness statistics
Reviewing and developing safety and health policies and procedures
Emergency Response Team planning
This position must positively and effectively interact with the entire team to promote a culture of safety and achieve an injury-free workplace. This position requires availability for communication 24/7 for emergencies, however, routinely works day shift, Monday through Friday. Applicants must have willingness and ability to travel several times per year, up to a week at a time, for safety meetings, audits, and best marking. Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Nurse with the ability to receive certification in Florida
No relatives employed at Nucor Steel Florida / Nucor Rebar Fabrication Florida divisions
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with 2-year associate degree, or 4-year bachelors degree
Occupational Health practical experience
General knowledge of Workers Compensation, OSHA, and ADA
Experience in occupational health and safety program development and training
3-5 years of Nursing Experience
Administrative experience with demonstrated knowledge of using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
