Construction portfolio consists of projects located within other Commonwealth Agency facilities such as Department of Corrections (Correctional Institutions), Department of Human Services (State Hospital and Center Facilities), Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (Universities), Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (Readiness Center and Veterans' Hospital), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Flood Control, State Parks), and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Headquarter Building).

Position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to job sites in the following Eastern Region counties is required: Bucks, Bradford, Carbon, Chester, Columbia, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming. In addition, you may occasionally be asked to travel to the following counties outside of the Eastern Region: Berks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montour, Northumberland, and Schuylkill.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position reports to a Project Coordinator and assists in managing capital improvement projects for Commonwealth Agencies within DGS' Eastern Region. Duties include coordinating projects to ensure they are in accordance with approved plans, specs, general conditions, laws, regulations, and procedures. This also includes conducting job conferences, negotiating and approving change orders up to a specific limit, providing technical guidance and direction to outside professionals and contractors, monitoring project progress to ensure adherence to project schedules, problem-solving, using construction computer software for administrative forms and processes, generating various documents and reports in the IT system, representing the Department in claims and disputes, and ensuring effective and efficient customer care to all client agencies and stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Position is home-headquartered; daily travel is required. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of professional building construction administration, construction planning, or construction project engineering experience for renovations and new construction of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: You must possess and maintain an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or equivalent. Additional Requirements: You must currently reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia County. You must be willing and able to travel to construction sites in Bucks, Bradford, Carbon, Chester, Columbia, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties in the Eastern region for w rk. You must be willing and able to travel to the following counties outside of the Eastern Region if necessary for work: Berks, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montour, Northumberland, and Schuylkill. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) construction schedules. Previous work experience on construction projects that utilized separate multiple Prime Contractors to perform the work which included reading, understanding, and executing Contract Documents for Multi-Prime Contractors. Experience writing narratives outlining revisions and or adjustments made to the CPM schedule during routine updates, generating correspondence to contractors, design professionals and/or clients regarding project issues, conditions or potential actions. Experience conducting meetings. Experience reviewing or negotiating construction change orders. Microsoft Office Suite and/or Construction Management Software experience.
