SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is onsite. Responsible to support the Cancer Center by serving as a resource specific to insurance authorizations and processing drug therapy applications to pharmaceutical companies for drug replacement, grants or copay assistance. Perform all functions of the Financial Counselor I, address patient concerns by taking the patient through the processes required to secure the appropriate financial resources for his/her financial situation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma required

  • One (1) year of experience in a position with job related experience such as: Medical health insurance knowledge, Medical terminology or Revenue Cycle experience required.

  • Certified Application Counselor Certificate required or must be willing to obtain the certification within three (3) months of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Associate's Degree preferred
