Responsibilities:
• Implement external and internal requirements for hardware systems for the avionics and space electronics product area (with a focus on digital hardware)
• Specify interfaces, quality, production and logistics requirements for market and customer-oriented hardware design
• Develop and design test systems for avionics electronics components or devices
• Implement and optimize automated testing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies, electronic components and tools available on the market for hardware development and, if necessary, implement them in the design them after consultation
• Create design specifications in collaboration with the (project) team and the design architect
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design and manufacturing, to integrate testing seamlessly into the product development lifecycle
• Test hardware modules or systems (or have them tested) and follow the release process in coordination with the responsible departments. If necessary, coordinate the results directly with the customer.
• Redesign of hardware modules or systems, e.g. after functional or component changes.
• Adapt or have existing hardware systems adapted according to technical specifications or customer wishes in line with requirements and production.
• Develop specifications for the maintenance and documentation of HW modules and SW applications
• Develop automated software test scripts and programs to efficiently and accurately assess the functionality of avionics equipment
• Formulate comprehensive tests strategies to ensure throughout coverage of electronic systems
Qualifications/ Experience
• Successfully completed studies in electrical engineering, information technology or computer science or a comparable degree/qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of prior relevant work experience in the field of digital hardware or embedded systems advantageous
• NATO- or EU- citizenship due to work on classified projects
• Demonstrated experience in actively participating in all stages of a project life cycle, from initial requirements set up to project completion
• Experience in hardware designing and good understanding of complex electronic circuits
• Knowledge of avionics BUS communication Interfaces
• Ability to write and understand Software code for test automation (ex. C, C++, Python)
• Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options and develop solutions
• Ability to collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions
• Self-motivated to contribute to a positive work environment
• Fluent English language skills
