Position Summary:

Job Title: Environmental Scientist Full Time or Part Time: PT/FT Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary Compensation: $25-33/hour Travel/Location: Onsite in the Houston, TX area Position Responsibilities

Collects and compiles environmental data that is relevant to the Disaster Recovery Program's projects. Analyze and review samples, surveys, and other information collected and identify any potential impacts to the projects. Serve as a resource for the Planning & Resilience Division on all Planning, Resilience, Preparedness, Recovery, Response, and Mitigation Projects Communication and coordination with all staff members working on related projects, as well as Local, State, and Federal and regional organizations, and the public. Coordinate with any local emergency planning committees to ensure statutory responsibilities are met. Assist clients with the development of Emergency Operations Plans to ensure consistency with any local, tribal, State, or Federal requirements. Serve as an Emergency Operations Center representative during disasters and exercises (may require long shifts, irregular work hours, and/or overnight work). Carry out special projects or manage programs in related areas as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time. Physical Demands:

Mobility required on-site with clients. Sitting or standing for hours at a time. Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed Ability to maneuver up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed. Working Environment:

Onsite at client locations in the Houston, TX area. Requirements Experience/Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field and 3+ years practical experience in a related role. Required credentials necessary to perform the functions of the position. Experience/Education Preferred:

Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance Program/Policy Trained in the new Public Assistance delivery model is preferred Active FEMA badge Additional Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.

Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
