Responsible for leading the charge to drive technology strategy and technical capabilities for an application ecosystem. Leverage deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to design application architecture that balances business and customer needs with technical non-functional requirements for resiliency, security and efficiency. Partners with application engineers to ensure the application ecosystem is engineered according to architecture vision and continuously evolve the architecture and application to meet changing customer and business needs. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities

  • Independently oversees the design process for an application and innovates unique solution patterns for that application

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to help develop product vision and strategy with Product Owners

  • Trains others in and out of your department in solution design patterns

  • Actively researches innovative solutions and ways to build business capabilities

  • Work with executive-level stakeholders on new payment services business strategies and create the architectures to realize the required capabilities.

  • Create and maintain the Technology vision and roadmap for the financial clearing and settlement product area.

  • Accountable for working with the product area architects to incorporate the technical enhancements in their target architectures and technical roadmaps.

  • Provide consulting to payment services architects and application teams on best practices.

  • Work with the third-party vendors for product evaluations, roadmaps, feature implementations.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelors – Information Technology, Engineering or related

  • 10+ Years - Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture or related

  • Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus architecture scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Hands on experience with Architecture and designing

  • In depth knowledge and experience in payment transaction clearing, settlement, fee billing and pricing

  • Experience with Payment networks, Banking industry and Debit card processing.

  • Experience building high performing, scalable systems that adapt and grow to customer needs.

  • Architecture patterns, Integration patterns, Right sizing the services, Micro services

  • Familiarity using Kubernetes, AWS and/or other cloud computing services.

  • Architecture and design documentation using industry standard tools

  • Good communication, and presentation skills

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $171,000.00 to $235,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
