HOURLY - Auto, Truck and Trailer Repair Mechanic

Auto, Truck & Trailer Repair Mechanic Tier 3

Job Description:

General Description

• Maintains and repairs a wide variety of powered industrial vehicles.

General Requirements

• Checks, maintains and repairs all types of power industrial vehicles, such as, trucks, tractors, lift trucks, gas power units, etc.

• Overhauls, repairs, adjusts, lubricates, and performs any miscellaneous duties incidental to the repair and maintenance of the above equipment and their component parts.

• Knowledge of vehicular hydraulics, with the ability to overhaul, repair and make hoses.

• Ability to uses all types of mechanic's hand, powered, digital and measuring tools.

• Ability to use special test equipment such as Curtis 1313 or equivalent.

• Ability to operate industrial press equipment.

• Handles parts and equipment manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Must have completed a formal apprenticeship OR have 8 years of equivalent training to qualify as a Journeyman.

Preferred Qualifications

• Should have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial powered equipment, hydraulics, DC and AC systems.

• Must be physically able to do heavy lifting.

Working Conditions and Hazards

• Normal garage conditions.

• Seasonal outdoor conditions.

• May be exposed to grease, oil, dirt, gasoline, fumes, etc.
