Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for a Powerhouse Supervisor. Learn more about this role and how you can begin driving your career forward!

Job Summary:

Responsible for supervising a medium to large group of employees involved in Plant Powerhouse and AC operations. Work is generally of a technical nature with the ability to make decisions within the limits of general standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hourly personnel (typically <20 skilled trades) engaged in Powerhouse and AC Operations.

  • Work involves initiative in decision making and a high level of independent judgment based on experience and skill.

  • Implement the Plant Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environmental goals.

  • Responsible for efficient/timely execution of system maintenance and repair projects based on budgets and preventive and predictable maintenance techniques.

Proactive approach to maintenance is required. Planning for downtime is key in supporting production schedules.

  • Initiates contact with others outside of work group when required to solve problems.

  • Physical presence in the workplace is an essential function.

  • Implements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives.

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    Experience:

Required:

  • 5+ years of knowledge of mechanical and high, medium, and low voltage electrical concepts.

  • 1+ year prior supervision experience.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years' prior supervision experience.

  • Experience managing in a Union environment.

  • High level of oral and written communications skills.

  • Self-motivated / Self-starter.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, one line and engineering drawings.

  • Understanding of basic Power Plant Operations: Steam Generation, High Voltage Electrical Distribution, Compressed Air Systems, Refrigeration/Chillers Operations, HVAC, Air Handlers, RTU, Cooling Tower Fundamentals, and Wastewater Treatment Processes.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the basic environmental regulations and their associated requirements.
