Job Description:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, textile science, or equivalent years of related work experience required.
Work Experiences:
5+ years of related work experience required
Advanced knowledge of color standards and theory
Working knowledge of woven and knit materials, dyeing and finishing, print and pattern, and textile material manufacturing
Working knowledge of design and development processes from inception to final adoption

Responsibilities:
Establish and enforce procedures for maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in color coordination in Private Brands
Responsible for creation, implementation, and maintenance of a Color Standard Operating Procedure Manual and training guides.
Administrative responsibilities over the color operating systems and equipment
Responsible for color management contract renewals and scheduled maintenance
Evolve the company’s color process to incorporate both existing and new technology platforms and systems.
Utilize existing technology platforms to automate color review activities and improve efficiencies.
Use advanced analytical/technical/problem solving to develop new solutions to existing problems/procedures.
Participate in seasonal line reviews and support cross functional teams by sharing technical knowledge to identify upfront color concerns related to dyeing, finishing, and/or performance.
Act as the color liaison with all external parties (mills, suppliers, and 3rd party color providers)
Ensure the distribution of color standards to both supplier and mill partners
Review (visually and digitally) lab dips and bulk fabric submissions from supplier and mill partners to ensure conformance to establish company standards
Communicate with various parties on lap dip and bulk fabric color comments in a timely manner
Understanding of T&A and deadlines to ensure on-time delivery.
Input new colors and maintain existing colors in the PLM color library each season
Timely upload of seasonal color palettes into PLM color library each season
Maintain relationships with nominated fabric mill partners on all color related topics and issues
Communicate with mills, supplier partners, and lab technicians to identify and trouble shoot technical limitations on various substrates and color finishes.
Coordinate and approve/reject lab dips for bulk yardage for Academy private brands
Create a seasonal report of Key Performance Indicators for color (lab dip/bulk fabric approval ratings, instore color failures, color process efficiencies, and timing for key activities)
Establish key color milestones and incorporate deadlines into Seasonal Development Calendar
Assist with the creation of a Self-Certification of Color for Mills
Train cross functional team members on color processes, standards, and theory, as needed
Attend domestic shows to stay abreast of color trends and standards
Schedule, prepare for, attend and\or lead supplier/mill color meetings as needed
Required to learn company policies, procedures and safety rules
Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.
Develop a thorough understanding of and follow Academy policies, procedures and safety rules
Responsibilities may change; team member may be required to perform other tasks as assigned.
