Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Production Superintendent to join their team.

Job Description:

The Production Superintendent plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production department within our food manufacturing company. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of food production processes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:

  2. Provide strong leadership to the production team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  3. Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  4. Production Planning and Scheduling:

  5. Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resources and minimizing waste.

  6. Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure smooth production flow.

  7. Quality Assurance:

  8. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, FDA, and GMP.

  9. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to uphold product quality standards.

  10. Operational Efficiency:

  11. Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing changes as necessary to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  12. Monitor production metrics and KPIs, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  13. Training and Development:

  14. Provide training and development opportunities for production staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

  15. Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the production team.

  16. Safety and Compliance:

  17. Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and promoting safe work practices.

  18. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues promptly to mitigate risks.

  19. Inventory Management:

  20. Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, collaborating with procurement and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.

  21. Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce inventory holding costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a food manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of food production processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
