ASM Global AV Technician in Kissimmee, Florida

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all audio, lighting, and video production equipment within Osceola Heritage Park. Property production equipment includes video boards and messaging systems, LED lighting systems, spotlights, digital audio systems, and other A/V equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain all audio, lighting, and video equipment.

  • Update and maintain all technical drawings related to all audio and video equipment and signal paths.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and provide technical support for events as needed.

  • Keep accurate inventory of tools, A/V testing devices, and related equipment.

  • Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance projects.

  • Manage all communications connectivity throughout the building.

  • Coordinate all video and audio routing throughout the facility.

  • Install, operate, maintain, and remove all equipment necessary for event production: audio consoles/systems, microphones, lighting boards/fixtures, cameras, Daktronics V7000 graphics system, video switchers, and TriCaster display systems.

  • Additional duties to be assigned depending on department needs.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a technical support role in the event industry including concerts, athletic events, and expos, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in Audio/Video systems, including hardware and software, lighting systems controls, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office, and other standard office equipment.

  • Prior experience with video/matrix boards, at a fast-paced arena or like the venue is preferred, but not required, Daktronics experience preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to troubleshoot, analyze, and prioritize technical information to make informed recommendations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic software/hardware problems.

  • Demonstrate proper knowledge and use of all procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment, and tools used in technical construction and maintenance.

  • Demonstrate proper knowledge and techniques in the use of lighting, sound, audiovisual, and rigging equipment used by Osceola Heritage Park.

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

  • Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate and interface with all departments, as well as promoters and agents, assuring the finest levels of customer service

  • Must be able to interact with the public and vendors.

  • Must understand structured organizational techniques and excellent time management skills to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in operating a forklift is preferred.

  • Ability to work irregular / extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays a MUST.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed for events.

  • The employee will be working at extreme heights, sometimes with the use of ladders and various other pieces of machinery to reach extreme heights.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • This position requires stooping lifting, carrying, and substantial walking. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
