Diesel Technician/Truck Mechanic

Kuhnle Brothers Inc. is seeking to fill a Diesel Technician/Truck Mechanic position at their Lakeville NY 11480 location.

Our experienced drivers are trained on products not just trucks and our fleet consists of Pneumatic Dry Vacuum Coded Stainless Rubber Lined Composite and Food Grade Trailers.

JOB TITLE: Diesel Technician/Truck Mechanic

WORK SCHEDULE: Regular Full-Time Monday-Friday 40-50 hours/week.

EXPERIENCE: -Diesel engine repair: 1 year. -Experience with tanker trailers (Preferred).

JOB DUTIES: -Perform general and preventative maintenance to tractors and trailers. -Diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical issues such as brakes suspension air and hydraulic systems. -Perform diagnostic troubleshooting to identify and repair diesel engines and resolve emissions issues. -Troubleshoot repair and maintain tanker trailers. -Perform some fabrication and final setup of new vehicles. -When necessary respond to local road calls.

REQUIREMENTS: -High School Diploma or GED preferred or one year of experience in inspection brake and/or vehicle-mechanic work on commercial vehicles and tanker trailers (preferred). -Class A Commercial Drivers license. -New York State Inspection License (preferred) (may be willing to support/train candidate to acquire). -Strong ability to properly troubleshoot diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to equipment systems. -Must have typical personal hand tools-shared shop tools for larger equipment. -Be able to communicate effectively in writing and properly complete work order and inspection documentation.

SHOULD HAVE A GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF: -Diesel engine maintenance and repair. -Chassis suspension brake. -Welding minor body repair/light fabrication (preferred). -Other duties as assigned.

Hourly wage is $20/hour-$30/hour depending on experience.
