Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Lenexa, Kansas

Description:

This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer that performs conventional to advanced engineering assignments applying concepts techniques analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations. Checks manufacturability of existing products and implements manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs. Performs Manufacturing Engineering assignments under general direction and supervision. Use DFM Techniques to assist Product Engineering on the development of new products and the redesign of existing products. Develops routings and labor standards and updates the ERP System. Writes and/or modifies manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures. Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routing. Designs systems processes and equipment to increase efficiency decrease costs and improve the quality and reliability of product. Design tools and fixtures for production and acceptance testing. Designs and modifies small cell or simple assembly lines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs and implements complex manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production. Improve facilities layout of production floor space to establish maximum utilization of equipment considering economic factors process flow and operator efficiency and comfort. Monitors and ensures mandatory modifications programs and bulletins are incorporated or complied with as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards. Identifies opportunities or implements changes on a need basis to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes tooling and production equipment assembly methods quality control standards or product design materials and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources. Audits manufacturability of existing products and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality customer product or productivity constraints. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and services troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Conducts analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures. Analyze customer returns for root cause and leads corrective action efforts in cooperation with Product Engineering. Develops and updates PFMEAs. Conduct studies pertaining to cost control cost reduction inventory control through the application of Lean principles. Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and provide cost benefit analysis by evaluating cost factors and schedules. Plan execute and document engineering economic challenges. Maintain awareness of start-of-the-art technology and the applicability of how it can be leveraged to improve the Company's competitive position in the assigned area. Develop tools that enable manufacturing aid process improvement or address safety concerns. Research new processes methods and equipment and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory. Design develop and improve station loading/line balancing. Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors in Engineering Must Have's: Experience with Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems and Lean Manufacturing Principles Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical data Must have strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Firm understanding of DFM Techniques, ERP System experience Software's: Proficient in Microsoft Excel. AutoCad 2D experience is required Nice to have's: 2+ years of engineering experience Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred Siemens NX experience is preferred
