Heavy Equipment Mechanic

What we are looking for:

Aldridge is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic and energetic team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment for our fleet department in Libertyville, Illinois.

What you’ll do:

Duties including:

  • Diagnosis, general repair and maintenance of heavy equipment including trucks, large foundation drilling rigs, and other support equipment.

  • Assuring that heavy equipment is in working order and safe to operate.

  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area.

  • Identifying the issue on the piece of equipment or vehicle to ensure proper repair.

  • Inspecting vehicles and equipment ensuring all DOT requirements are met.

  • Participate in company safety training.

  • Follow all company safety guidelines.

  • Report findings after inspection to supervisor and document all repairs/services performed.

    Who you are:

    We are pursuing candidates with the following qualifications:

  • CDL license Class “A”

  • Professional

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Natural engineering and problem solving skills

  • Dependable and reliable attendance

  • Own tools up to ¾ inch

  • Technical training, traditional or on the job.

  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and able to apply that knowledge during inspections

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to perform work tasks.

  • Basic computer skills

    This is a 301 Teamsters union position.
