Service Champions HVAC Install Apprentice in Los Angeles, California

HVAC Install Apprentice reports to the Install Manager and they are responsible for traveling to customers' homes and following direction from their Lead Installer to assist in proficiently installing HVAC equipment. Apprentice Installers are also responsible for maintaining communication with the office staff in order to foster a cohesive operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report to the shop to load equipment needed for the day to truck

  • Communicate with Lead Installer before leaving shop to go to the job

  • Attend all training classes and seminars to obtain expertise in the field

  • Adhere to proper paperwork procedures

  • Take direction regarding scheduling

  • Keep Lead informed at all times of the progress throughout the day

  • Collect payment for services rendered when required

  • Follow through on job problems and communicate issues with Lead

  • Keep abreast of all company sales promotions and pricing

  • Turn in all paperwork to office making sure it is filled out completely and accurately in the field

  • Maintain all minimum required stock on truck at all times

  • Recommend/sell equipment, service agreements, duct cleanings and accessories when it is requested by the customer or is in the best interest of the customer to do so

  • Other tasks as requested by management

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to represent JW in a professional manner with customers, vendors, staff and the general public

  • Work well under pressure

  • Must have valid drivers' license and a good driving record

  • Good communicator - works well with different customers and office personality styles.

  • Ability to handle difficult customer/diagnostic issues

  • Adaptability-the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • The principle duties of this position are performed in a variety of environments, including customer homes and outdoors

  • Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods of time.

  • Experiences frequent interruptions; required to meet inflexible deadlines; requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours per day.

  • Occasional heavy manual labor to include lifting and carrying up to 50-75 pounds.

  • Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.

  • Frequently works in closed or cramped spaces.
