Position Description:

Performs highly skilled mechanical and/or analytical duties in the coordination and completion of projects. Work is performed under general guidelines using established procedures and evaluated on results obtained. May supervise skilled and semi-skilled subordinates.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Operate and maintain lathe, drill press and CNC machining centers.

  • CNC programming: Using computer software to program CNC operations; TTU Software: Inventor and Surfcam.

  • CNC machining Center setup and operation.

  • Install CAD CAM software in Lab Computers and updated required Software Licenses.

  • Maintain Lab Computers.

  • Maintenance equipment in Stinson lab.

  • Perform Department Inventory once per year.

  • Performs skilled mechanical and/or analytical duties in the coordination and completion of projects to assist students and professors with research projects.

  • Order materials and prepare the lab for manufacturing processes courses.

  • Enforce all safety rules set forth by Texas Tech University.

  • Duties include being part of the Departmental Safety Team.
