Job Description:

Manager Social Work Services

The Social Work Manager maintains 24-hour accountability for the clinical and management functions, as well as monitoring and evaluation activities pertinent to the operation of the department. Emphasis is on the supervision of the staff that is providing supportive counseling and discharge planning through the care coordination process. Care is rendered to age-appropriate populations on each patient care unit. The Social Work Manager is responsible for maintaining established standards, and administrative support and guidance to a department of social workers. The Social Work Manager is responsible for maintaining ongoing collaborative and collegial relationships with Medical Staff, clinical and support departments. The Social Work Manager demonstrates clinical skill and competence as necessary.

The essential functions of this position are denoted by criteria with weights equal to or greater than two. Criteria with weights less than two are considered marginal functions for this position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work

  • Five years minimum health care experience

  • Two years supervisory experience.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

  • Current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
