_POSITION SUMMARY:_ * The Distributor Sales Representative is a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their customer service, project management and technical selling skills within a fast-paced sales environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and increasing sales of our Durock and Fiberock brand product portfolios. The successful candidate will have a focus on tile and flooring installation products in the designated market. *_ _ With a passion for customer service and the commitment to follow through, the Distributor Sales Representative is responsible for increasing Durock and Fiberock brand product sales through relationship development and management, product presentations and demonstrations as well as marketing activities. The incumbent will work within general guidelines and procedures, exercising independent judgment while being committed to safety, quality, reliability and customer service.
This position will support the New England market, spanning Connecticut to Maine.
Candidate will be based out of Massachusetts.
Location flexibility is at the discretion of the hiring manager. /Midpoint may be adjusted based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and experience/ _ _ _KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_ Includes the following and performs additional responsibilities as assigned * Improve sales volume by building relationships and providing the required support to product distributors and end users. * Influence each customer group’s loyalty by delivering a high level of customer service, including the following: proactive customer contact, industry knowledge and networking, hands on demonstrations, product training, deep technical product knowledge, large project / job coordination, competitive information, job quotes and prompt resolution of customer complaints. * Develop strong relationships with other departments including Marketing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Customer Service and Accounting/Credit. * Execute pricing strategy * Utilize Salesforce automation (SFA) to effectively meet the objectives of the position and make data driven business decisions that positively impact the bottom line.
_KEY QUALIFICATIONS:_ * Currently hold a valid driver’s license. * Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. * Self-starter with excellent organizational skills. * Able to coordinate and manage multiple projects effectively. * Demonstrate proven success at working independently with a sense of urgency, a high level of customer focus and attention to details that drive sales. * Possess excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision-making and people-handling skills and be an integral part of a diverse environment. * Systematic, people- and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects his/her daily work. Education * Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience 5 years sales experience, preferably in the building materials and/or construction industry. Travel Requirements * Travel time spent servicing respective market and within assigned region will be 50 – 60% with focus on large metropolitan markets. * * Experience * Minimum of 5 years of tile backer or tile-setting sales or installation. * Previous experience and technical and industry knowledge in the tile industry preferred. * Experience with territory management and job tracking preferred.
Required Skills * Salesforce.com power user preferred * Strong business acumen and professionalism. * Strong communication/interpersonal skills, including negotiating, presentation, professional selling, conflict resolution and relationship building. * Self-motivated with a focus on working to and exceeding targets. * Effective and independent time and scheduling management of activities. * Ability to set and self-manage priorities to ensure maximizing of account development maximization for both existing and new accounts.
