MARINE TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Established boat dealership seeking a qualified marine technician familiar with outboards, with at least 3 years of specific outboard and experience. This is a full-time and long term position. The desired individual must work as part of team. Being a long term position, we will provide Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury and Honda schooling and certification to the right person. We are looking for quality employees to be a part of our team so certifications from engine manufacturers moves them to the top of the list. Compensation package dependent upon experience and manufacturers current certifications.

Job Summary Experience and training in all aspects of outboard troubleshooting and repairs, including but not limited to: Repair and Maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment of all outboard boat engines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems. Start motors and monitor performance for signs of malfunctioning, such as smoke, excessive vibration, or misfiring.

``` - Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed.

``` - Mount motors to boats and operate boats on waterways to conduct operational tests.

``` - Repair defective engines or engine components.

``` - Perform routine engine maintenance such as changing oil and filters.

``` - Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.

```{=html}

``` - Inspect and repair or adjust propellers or propeller shafts.

``` - Adjust boat components according to specifications to ensure optimal performance.

```{=html}

``` - Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.

```{=html}

``` - Repair electrical circuits or wiring.

  • The associate must stand in place for a time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly
