Amazon Finance Business Partner Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico

Amazon seeks an Experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to support our fast growing retail business in Mexico. The position is part of our growing Consumer Finance organization and is based out of our Mexico City office. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key finance partner in an innovative and rapidly evolving business at Amazon.

We’re looking for exceptional people with solid financial knowledge and outstanding analytical skills. In this role, you will fully own the Finance function for a diverse group of products in our retail businesses in Mexico. Finance at Amazon means partnering directly with senior business leaders to deliver big results. It means working with the big data to identify key insights, then leverage them to drive business change. It means engaging with the latest technology and tools, including machine learning and advanced statistical modeling. It means managing multiple projects effectively. Most of all, Finance at Amazon means finding new ways to surprise and delight our customers.

As business partner to our retail teams, you will help to drive business strategy, implement core financial processes, and own key growth and profitability projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and multicultural environment. Primary responsibilities include:

·P&L ownership – analysis of the financial outputs, connecting them with the underlying input drivers and translating them into insights to inform and execute business decisions.

·Partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts, accounting, inventory and operations teams to provide analytics, strategic guidance and decision support to senior executives on the key 2021 initiatives and beyond

·Tracking business performance against goals and leading goal reviews with senior management; developing and implementing policies and programs to maintain and improve profitability.

·Leading financial reviews, performing analysis on weekly, monthly and quarterly results. Finding opportunities to improve and simplify these processes.

·Project ownership, working with business partners to deliver projects such as new product launches, innovations, and customer analysis that help us better serve Amazon’s customers.

·Collaborating with Latin American Finance teams on region-wide finance-specific deliverables and projects.

You would be well suited to this role if you possess:

· Fluent English

  • A strong academic background

· 5+ years finance experience from Retail, FMCG, or Tech companies within an international environment.

· Demonstrable experience of driving Financial results.

· An eye for detail and a passion for data

· Robust analytical & modelling skills.

· Advanced Excel skills, with VBA skills preferred

· Prior knowledge of SQL/ETL and COGNOS would be beneficial, and a willingness to learn these is essential

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience

  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
