Materials Engineering Test Development Leader

In this pivotal role, you'll be a leader and innovator, wearing many hats:

  • Lead the Charge: Oversee and manage test development, materials development, personnel, equipment, and resources in a fast-paced lab setting.

  • Global Impact: Coordinate and direct metallurgical testing activities across various departments, ensuring analysis needs are met for customers worldwide.

  • Material Mastermind: Spearhead material development efforts, including crafting new concepts, developing innovative methods, and creating clear specifications.

  • Test Strategist: Develop and review test programs to optimize lab resources and deliver actionable insights that drive informed decisions.

  • Problem-Solving Sleuth: Devise and implement laboratory test strategies to troubleshoot production problems and pinpoint field/test failures.

  • Clear Communicator: Author technical reports for both internal and external audiences, effectively conveying complex information.

  • Resource Champion: Recommend new equipment purchases and manage departmental assets to ensure optimal lab efficiency.

  • Safety First: Champion lab safety compliance by conducting regular inspections and meetings, fostering a safe and secure work environment.

  • Quality Champion: Ensure compliance with industry quality standards by maintaining the lab's Quality Manual and reviewing procedures.

To excel in this role, you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering with 5-10 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.

  • Proven expertise in materials engineering with a deep understanding of metallurgical concepts and equipment.

  • Stellar organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines with ease.

  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with various levels within the company and external contacts.

  • The ability to craft clear and concise written and oral communication, tailoring information for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • A demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems and drive innovative solutions.

  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems and industry quality standards.

  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills to inspire and guide your team.

  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
