Advanced Instrumentation and Control Systems Technician

Shift: Grave (11:00pm - 7:30am)

Join our innovative team, where your expertise in plant instrumentation and control systems paves the way for a more efficient and dynamic future. You'll be at the heart of maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting crucial plant instrumentation and other control systems. Your deep understanding of programming, coupled with an exceptional ability to troubleshoot plant controls processes, will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency.

Your role extends beyond just technical expertise; it involves making strategic recommendations to improve both the control processes and the processes themselves, ensuring minimal downtime and investigating opportunities to boost equipment performance. You'll be executing minor projects, including PLC and HMI code changes, and leading the charge in equipment and component upgrades. Your ability to identify, repair, and calibrate instrumentation will be invaluable, as will your skills in troubleshooting various communication networks.

Collaboration is key in this role. You'll work cross-functionally, supporting operations, maintenance, and participating in the development of innovative ideas and concepts. Your recommendations on technology improvements will play a crucial role in advancing our equipment capabilities. As you gather, validate, and analyze technical and cost data, your insights will drive feasibility studies and contribute to the development of systems and the commercialization of new products.

Your leadership will extend to training Controls Tech I, new engineers, and interns, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of intrapreneurship and ownership. Your commitment to GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance will ensure our continued success and innovation.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus 1 years of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.

  • Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.

  • Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.

  • May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.

  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.

  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $42.74 - $57.74 / hour

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
